Ashwyn laughed softly at Sigurd as he changed again. "It was sweet. The children really enjoyed it."

Even though he was in his hybrid form, she still hooked her arm in his. He was still Sigurd after all. "And besides, at least one of us is comfortable now." She smiled up at him with a playful wink.

"I really do hope that one of their remedies are able to help your people." She added, unconsciously stroking her fingers across the soft fur along his arm.

Zane nodded. "Indeed. But it shouldn't be too hard to find now!" He said with confidence. He escorted her up the stairs to the second floor. This floor was less crowded than the first floor also, and the people walking around were slower, walking with more care as they all seemed to be carrying something breakable.

Wandering for a bit, they managed to find the the Alchemist area the gaurd had indicated. There were several young elves rushing about with this ingredient or that ingredient. At the very back was a large tank of water with a cauldron in front of it.

There were two people standing near the tank and staring into the cauldron. The one on the left was an older Wood Elf with deep brown hair. It was messily pulled back out of his face but frayed everywhere. His clothing was ripped and stained and the sleeves were rolled up to his shoulders.

Teh second figure was a very tall and very slender elf woman. Her hair was thick, black and stringy and was currently pulled into a ponytail. Her skin was soft blue with white splotches along her limbs. Her fingers and toes were webbed and water dripped from her hair as though she'd just gotten out of the water.

He nodded if anything it's a step in the right direction. Here" he dropped the fur coat over her shoulders "don't need a chill to put you out of commission" as they walked he wondered what the elves would think of a hybrid werewolf just walking through their city.

Ashwyn smiled as the heavy fur landed over her shoulders. "Thank you." She wrapped it around her and sighed happily at the warmth.

As they walked back, whereas before they were mostly ignored as just another couple, now they were getting shocked glances. No one stopped them or reacted in any way except for wide eyes, but it was a very clear difference.

Ashwyn chuckled. "You seem to be making a bit of a stir." She whispered, glancing up at him with a twinkle of laughter in her eyes.

Each couple they passed looked more shocked than the last "maybe I should switch into my wolf form...they're probably used to that.. I just don't be much for conversation like that" he grumbled. It was that or walk around in the nude again. Nothing but the fur coat to keep the wind off. Nah he'd keep his real fur coat on before that happened again.

Ashwyn watched the shocked expressions increase as they walked. But finally she decided that she didn't care. She decided many years ago in her own village that she didn't care what people thought of her. The initial kindness she had been shown had already begun to spoil her. But any place that wouldn't accept someone like Sigurd didn't deserve her revelry.

She squeezed his arm tighter and walked nearer to him. "No. You should walk in whatever form you're most comfortable. I know you want to make a good impression, and I admire that. But you're here to help their city and they'll just have to accept you the way you are. Or maybe they don't deserve your help."

Surprised that Zane hadn't taken it upon himself to speak first as always, Lopiena respectfully watches the two elves for a short amount of time, making sure she doesn't interrupt...whatever they're doing. When the elves finally look up and notice the odd pair before them, she bows and smiles.
"Please excuse my interruption. We are travelers passing through your fair city to seek out the cause of the attacks from the Anarochs. In order to do that, we need to strengthen our weapons with silver, and have heard that your skills with alchemy may be able to assist with this task. Please, can you tell me if this is something you can do?"

The two figures stopped what they were doing and looked up when Lopinea spoke. They both sort of froze, as though not expecting anyone to talk to them. Suddenly the cauldron began to release purple smoke. It wasn't until the smoke covered the alchemists head that he notices and gasped.

"Oh no no no no!" He shouted and quickly began stiring again. "Ale! The sulfur! Hurry!"

The blue skinned woman rushed over to a table and pulled out a small vial and rushed back over to his side. He took the vial from her and tipped it over into the cauldron. The smoke lessened and the liquid inside turned a transparent blue. He visibly relaxed and sighed, wiping his brow. Finally he looked back up at Lopiena and Zane again.

"Hello." The blue skinned woman waved happily behind him. "What was it you were needing again?" He asked.

Zane raised a brow a bit at the kerfufle, glancing back to Lopiena for a moment. He stepped forward to speak. "Yes, good sir. We are in the market to have our weapons silvered. Might you be able to assist us?"

The alchemist stared for a long moment, just blinking. Finally he shook himself out of his seeming daze and nodded. "Oh, yes. Yes of course I can." He straightened up and brushed off the apron he wore. He stepped out around from the cauldron and offered his hand to Zane first, then Lopiena.

"I'm Ruardh Bihana. This is my wife, Alenia." The blue skinned woman approached and offered her hand to them both.

Zane shook Ruardh's hand and then bent to kiss the back of the hand of Alenia. He hesitated, kissed it, then looked up at her. "A sea elf? Amazing!" He smiled and she seemed to blush. "I've never heard of one living so far from the sea."

She smiled. "I suppose I'm unique." She winked.

"You are indeed." Zane agreed. "So...tell me..." He moved closer to her, obviously enamored by the new information, and it was clear he was very close to getting lost in the discover...

Lopiena glances back and forth between Zane and Alenia, trying to decide whether to rescue her or encourage Zane's information gathering. A few minutes can't hurt...bowing again, she smiles at Ruardh. "My apologies again for the interruption. It is truly an honor to meet both of you. Please, can you tell me what you would need in order to silver our weapons?"

Ruardh eyed the strange gnome talking up his wife for a bit before shaking his head and turning back to Lopiena.

"Hm? Oh, what do you need? Well, that depends on how many weapons you need silvered, I guess." He walked over to a back room and popped his head inside. He seemed to be counting something. Then he turned back and faced Lopiena. "Yes that should be plenty." He turned back to her. "So...just that sword?" He asked, pointing to Sigurds sword in her hand.

Meanwhile Zane and the Sea Elf were talking animatedly by the cauldron, completely oblivious to the world around them.

As they walked Sigurd made every attempt to smile, surprisingly his face was very emotive, for a werewolf face, his blue eyes contrasting his blonde fur gave off an almost domesticated kindness, whereas the rest of his body was an example of an organism bred for the purpose to hunt and kill swiftly and quietly. “With what we've been offered so far I'd say they deserve every ounce of strength we can muster.” he said softly.

Ashwyn saw a mother clutch her child closer to her as they walked past them and she frowned. "Hm....perhaps." She couldn't help the feeling of distrust that was washing over her again. She had almost forgotten it, what with the kind receptions and then meeting with the Lythari. But she supposed there was a negative side to everywhere.

They walked in relative silence back to the tree building that had become their temporary home and began to climb the steps. The area was quiet now and the lights had been dimmed. They walked back into their own room and Ashwyn immediately went to the light the large decorative torches that lined the walls.

Sitting on the table in the center of the room was all of their clothing and armor. It had been cleaned and shined up till they looked almost new. Even Lopiena's patched up robes had been expertly mended so they looked new. Sigurd's armor had been polished and any tears in any of their items had been fixed.

Ashwyn approached the clothes and lifted her shirt. "It's almost like new..." She muttered in awe. She set it down along one of the couches and reached around her to try and unbutton her dress but couldn't reach all of the complicated buttons. "Ugh! Why do people wear these things?!" She grumbled, desperate to comfortable again.

Walking into the room and seeing the pile of their cleaned and repaired clothes Sigurd picked up his armor, the quick release had been rewoven and secured. He was impressed. The only down side was now it smelled like elves... He turned to Ashwyn and noticed her struggling with her dress “Generally to impress people they don't care about.” he smirked. Walking towards the spring again Sigurd quickly ran a claw from the small of Ash's back up to her neck tearing the dress in half making sure not to nick her skin. “there, skinned like a rabbit” he chuckled before entering the spring room. Slipping into the water he shifted back to his natural form and rested his head on the stone bank again. It was going to be a while before they had this kind of luxury, he was going to enjoy it.

Eyes wide, Lopiena gasps in realization. "Oh no! I am so sorry...I did not mean to deceive you. This sword, and several other items." Turning to Zane, she gently places a hand on his shoulder. "Zane, please...you're carrying most of our weapons. If you would...?" Turning slightly to Alenia, she smiles. "My apologies for interrupting. Again."

When Sigurd answered her question she scoffed loudly. It wasn't that she was challenging his words, but political correctness was absolutely abhorrent to her. She squeaked in surprise when she felt his claw touch her lower back. Before she could even turn around he had perfectly ripped the back of the dress and she had to quickly clutch it to her front to prevent it from falling to the floor.

His words made her chuckle. "Thanks." She looked at the clean rip and shook her head. She hopped the elves didn't mind that their nice dress was now ruined. She certainly wasn't about to cry about it. She looked up to see Sigurd sinking back into the hot springs and the memory of the heat against her muscles made her envy him.

One he had turned into the spring, she quickly dropped the dress to the ground and wrapped a towel around herself. She followed him to the spring and carefully stepped into it. She groaned in pleasure as she sunk into the heat again. "This will be the hard part to say goodbye to..." She said with a playful smile as she lay her head back against the cool stones.

Zane turned when he was touched and it took him a moment to focus on Lopeina. "Hm...? OH! Oh yes, terribly sorry." He said and quickly removed the blanket bundle from his back.

The bundle fell open to reveal all of their weapons. "Ideally we'd like them all done. But cost is obviously a concern." He said, his mind now back on the task at hand.

Ruardh looked over everything carefully. "Hmm....well, the big sword will cost the most...using more silver of course...But most of these are small....hmmmm." He put a finger to his chin as he thought. "I'd say....275 gold for all of it. That should cover the cost of materials."

Zane raised a brow. "Just the materials? Surely you want paid for the labor."

"Hm? Oh, no I wouldn't dream of asking for that." He shook his head. "Besides, my niece would probably hit me if I even thought about it."

"Niece?" Zane asked.

"Hm? Oh, she didn't mention me?" He seemed shocked. "I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. My niece is Ishal Orimys, head of security. My sister was her mother."

Sigurd opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling “That's an understatement... we have something like this back home, but it's manufactured and takes a lot of energy to heat, our magic can only do so much, you would think fire would be one of them.” he sighed. He'd been away from ThunderKnoll before but the thought of not knowing when he'd be back, or what state it would be in bothered him. “The sooner we get this figured out the better...”

She smiled over to him. "Surely you can create fire. Even man has enjoyed that luxury for centuries." She teased.

She allowed her body to sink a bit further into the water and sighed in contentment as she heat melted her tension away. As she relaxed her mind played back the events of the evening. Meeting the Lythari has certainly been the highlight of this journey so far. They were such a warm people. So unusual for elves in general. She supposed it was the lycan part of them. As her thoughts landed on Lia and her unusual words to her, she felt her hands trail along her stomach.

"What do you think Lia's medicine did?" She asked at last, her voice soft in her own uncertainty.

Stunned at the marked difference between Rhuard and the blacksmith they had spoken to earlier, Lopiena all but kneels before him. "Your kindness and generosity are without equal. If I see...wait...Ishal? Red hair, daughter of the leader of the Wood Elves?" Eyes even wider than before, she gives Ruardh a more thorough look. The family resemblance is clear, now that he mentioned it. Grasping his hand, she presses the back of his hand to her forehead and bows over it. "Your family has been deeply affected by the attacks to your city. Our goal is to find the cause of these attacks and put an end to them. Even one life lost is too much, and you have suffered greatly." Standing back up, she looks into his face. "I will let her know that your skills will assist our mission greatly."
Going over to Zane, she whispers quietly in his ear. "Do we even have that much? I don't."

Sigurd snorted “probably nothing, I've never taken much stock in potions, never needed them. Our kind don't get sick and we heal fast.. at least.. we used to.” He didn't move his head but he looked to Ashwyn. “if you notice anything different let me know will you?” He raised his arms and stretched before knitting his fingers together and placing them behind his head. With everything that was happening to his people and how much it was advancing he wondered how long it would be for something to happen to him. He'd know, he'd start getting sick, like the common cold, or his healing would slow, or both until he shifts and loses himself and given his strength now he shudders at the thought of it being amplified by whatever curse is plaguing him. What if it was something to do with the Mana Well, would fixing it sever any magic they had? Would they be no better than regular lycanthropes? He tried his best to push the anxiety from his mind.

Ashwyn wasn't sure why Sigurd's words made her sad but they did. It wasn't as though she had ever even considered a family after what happened to her. But something about the way Lia's eyes lit up when she gave her that potion...and seeing the children in that tribe playing...

She shook her head sharply to push those thoughts from her head. No reason to think of them now. When he asked her to let him know if there was a change, she turned to him and nodded. "Of course."

Her eyes trailed away and she watched the water ripple with the flow and with their body movements. She was so distracted in her own thoughts that it took her a while to notice Sigurd's silence. She turned to his face again and could see the worry on his face. She frowned, suddenly feeling selfish for worrying about herself.

She carefully moved in the water till she was sitting near, though not touching him. "Are you alright?" She asked softly. She already knew the answer of course. There's only one thing that she knew of that could cause such distress.

Ruardh nodded. "Yes that's her." He nodded. His eyes widened when she dropped to her knees. He stared at her shocked for a bit but then his eyes softened. Finally he chuckled. "There's really no reason for that." He pulled her from the floor. "It is what it is. We're not the only ones in this city to have suffered loss. And we won't be the last. Best thing to do is to move on and do our best to protect those that are left." He nodded matter of factly.

Zane smiled. "A worthy endevour indeed!" He agreed. When Lopiena whispered to him about the cost he waived it off. "So, how long to you think this process will take?"

Ruardh looked over the items again and thought about it. "Well...melting the silver is a delicate process. Can't be rushed. But....I'd say I could have it done by mid-day tomorrow. I believe you're meeting with the High Druid tomorrow anyway, right?"

Zane nodded. "Indeed. I suppose Ishal informed you of our presence?"

Alenia approached them. "Yes she told us a few hours ago. I have to admit, I'm glad we got to meet. You're mission is a noble one."

Zane waived it off but he had a blush starting on the back of his neck. "Oh...it's nothing..."

Lopiena nods, slightly embarrassed by her show of emotion but no less sincere. "We will certainly protect those who are left. The peace of this city is nothing like I have ever experienced before, and these attacks impact that peace as well as the people."

At the mention of the time required to complete the work, she agrees. "I believe mid-day tomorrow should be soon enough, especially since I am not sure how long speaking to the High Druid will take. But won't that require working through the night? Will you need any assistance, or additional supplies?" Although concerned about Zane's casual manner about the cost, she doesn't mention it again...but it would be terrible for these nice people if they worked through the night and weren't even compensated for the materials.

Ruardh waived off Lopeina's concern for sleep. "You're human, yes? Humans sleep far too much of their lives away, if you ask me. No offense intended of course. He said with a chuckle. "I'm only just waking up anyway. My experiments require moonlight so I've been working at night the last few months anyway." He shrugged.

Alenia laughed at him. "Oh don't listen to him. He likes to try and impress people." She stepped forward and smiled at him. "Him saying he just woke up just means he slept for ten minutes after falling asleep on his paperwork."

Ruardh blushed. "Ale...." He groaned.

She winked at him and turned to the others. "Don't worry, it won't be a problem. We can have them delivered to your room when they're finished."

Zane clapped his hands together. "Wonderful!" He reached down and picked up his coin purse. "I don't suppose you have a scale around, eh?"

Ruardh nodded and walked with Zane over to the scale. Zane fiddled around with the money for a bit before plopping down a rather large pile of gold pieces with a few platinum pieces thrown in.

"There, that should do it." Zane nodded. He looked up at the other two. "Thank you both! We look forward to seeing your work." He set the weapons down carefully on an open table. "Over here, Lopeina." He said, waiving her over to place Sigurd sword down.

Feeling somewhat overwhelmed (Zane has platinum?), Lopiena obediently places Sigurd's sword where indicated. "Thank you both for everything. Whether sleep is necessary to you or not, your efforts are greatly appreciated." Suddenly bone weary, she smiles again. "I suppose humans do sleep our lives away. It is necessary, unfortunately...and the past couple of days have been tiring." Not wanting to leave right away, she hesitates but doesn't really know what else to say.
